Welcome to our 21-Day Meditation Challenge, Shedding the Weight: Mind, Body and Spirit. We are delighted you are joining us on this adventure to transform all of our heaviness and burdens in life to lightness and fulfillment.

Together we will understand that “shedding the weight” is not only an issue for our bodies, but that we are also weighed down with emotional, mental, and spiritual burdens.

Today we discover that we don’t have to struggle to shed our burdens – all we need to do is expand our awareness. In that awareness, we find the inner fulfillment that is our true self. This state of expanded awareness is the lightness in your life and allows you to effortlessly let go of the heaviness that doesn’t serve you.

As we continue this Meditation Experience over the next few weeks, we will explore all the ways to shed our weight, whether it is physical, mental, or emotional.

Day 01- Finding The Lightness In Your Life

When you hear the words shedding the weight, you likely think about weight loss and cutting back on the food you eat. What I know for sure is that weight takes on all kinds of meanings in our lives.

In this meditation challenge, Shedding the Weight: Mind, Body and Spirit, Deepak and I (Oprah) invite you to join us on a path to shed the heaviness that you accumulate in your mind your body, and spirit.

Together, our goal is to replace that heaviness with vitality and energy. In week one we explore what hunger means in the deepest sense. In week two we begin to rebalance our attitudes habits and beliefs that hold us back, and in week 3 we complete the transformation creating space for new perspectives that lead to holistic positive change.

Through meditation, we begin to open up and recognize what we’re really hungry for, and in that mindfulness, we unleash the energy of lightness, we begin to replace our hunger with fulfillment.

Welcome to day one: Finding the Lightness in Your Life. Shedding the Weight is about the totality of our needs, and how to realize them in a positive lasting way. Listen as Deepak guides us to a new understanding of our burdens.

He’ll start us down the path to harmony within ourselves. Then, we will meditate together. Lightness, here we come.

Journal Questions

  1. Consider the ways you feel weighed down in your life. Write a list of the burdens in your mind, body, and spirit that you wish to lighten in these three weeks.
  2. Write down three things you can do to find lightness in your life. For example, these could be listening to music, taking a walk, or playing with your children.
  3. Reflect on what nourishes your inner self, and then describe two things you can do today that nourish your spirit.
  4. Reflect further on your experience today.
